Day 9: January 14, 2025

Updated: Jan 15

Listen to the Right Voice

Devotional:

In a world filled with competing narratives—social media, cultural expectations, and personal insecurities—discerning God's voice becomes crucial. Even Peter, with good intentions, offered suggestions instead of listening. Not every good voice is the right voice for this season. We must learn to distinguish between voices that simply sound pleasant and the voice that brings life-changing truth.Hearing Jesus requires intentional stillness, discernment, and alignment with Scripture. When we quiet the noise, we open our hearts to His guidance, which leads us to truth and peace.

  • What voices are currently influencing your decisions?

  • How do you distinguish between good voices and God's voice?

  • Are there areas where you're following good advice that might not be God's direction?

Scripture:

While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, 'This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!' And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their faces and were greatly afraid."

- Matthew 17:5-6 (NKJV)

Prayer:

Father, help me to discern Your voice amidst life’s noise. Teach me to quiet my spirit, listen to Your Son, and trust Your guidance in all areas of my life. Amen.

Call to Action:

Spend 15 minutes today in silence, asking God to help you recognize His voice. Write down what you sense Him speaking to your heart.
