Devotional:
Matthew 7:24–27
2 Kings 13:14–19
Ephesians 5:15–17
We intentionally sought God. We have fasted, prayed, listened, repented, and realigned. We created space for His voice and allowed Him to shape our hearts. The fast is ending, but the work is not finished.
Scripture teaches us that blessings are often connected to our response to instruction. Jesus said, “Everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock” (Matthew 7:24). Hearing alone is not enough. Stability, fruitfulness, and endurance are the result of obedience. What we do with what God has spoken determines what is built next.
Consider 2 Kings 13; the prophet Elisha instructed King Joash to strike the ground with arrows. The king struck the ground only three times and stopped. Elisha was angry because he gave clear instruction but the king lacked diligence. His half-hearted response limited the victory God wanted to give him. God’s instruction invites our participation.
Paul echoes this wisdom in Ephesians 5 when he urges believers to “walk carefully” making the most of the time because the days are evil. Walking wisely means living intentionally. It means applying what God has revealed and refusing to drift back into old patterns once the time of fasting ends. What will you do with what God has shown you? Don’t waste the revelation.
Reflect
What specific instruction, conviction, or habit did God highlight during this fast that I need to intentionally carry forward?
One Step Forward
Invite accountability by sharing with someone how the fast has impacted you and what you are committing to do next.
