God over Gain
Devotional:
When the temple became a place of profit rather than prayer, it grieved Jesus deeply. Have we made church about personal benefits rather than God’s glory? When we prioritize comfort, recognition, or financial gain over God’s mission, we lose sight of His heart. Church must always be about God—not us.
True worship prioritizes Him above all else. Our focus should remain on glorifying God, not what we can gain. Let us renew our commitment to seeking Him first in all we do.
Scripture:
"No one can serve two masters... You cannot serve both God and money." Matthew 6:24
"And He said to them, 'It is written, "My house shall be called a house of prayer," but you have made it a "den of thieves."'" - Matthew 21:13 (NKJV)
Prayer:
Father, purify my motives for coming to Your house. Help me to seek You above all else and serve with a pure heart. Amen.
Call to Action:
Evaluate your involvement in church. Ask yourself: Is this for God’s glory or my benefit? Make adjustments where needed
