The Importance of Being Close to Christ
Devotional:
Proximity to Christ transforms us. Peter, James, and John experienced the transfiguration because they walked closely with Jesus. Similarly, our spiritual growth depends on our closeness to Him. The more we align our lives with His Word and presence, the more we understand His heart and purpose. Staying close to Christ is not just about receiving blessings; it’s about becoming more like Him.
How close are you staying to Jesus in your daily life?
What barriers are keeping you from deeper intimacy with Christ?
How can you prioritize relationship over religious activity?
Scripture:
"Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, led them up on a high mountain by themselves; and He was transfigured before them... When they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus only." - Matthew 17:1-2, 8 (NKJV)
“Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.” – James 4:8 [NIV]
Prayer:
Lord, I want to be closer to You each day. Teach me to abide in Your presence and let Your love shape my thoughts, actions, and heart. Amen.
Call to Action:
Choose one practical way to draw closer to Christ this week, such as spending extra time in prayer, joining a Bible study, or worshiping intentionally.
